During Thailands invasion
and battles with Burma, the
Budai Sawan emerged as
Thailands leading temple in
training its warriors in
Krabi Krabong, the warriors
art of Thailand. This
temple still stands today in
Ayauthia, the ancient
capital of Thailand. In the
last 100 years the temple
has been officially moved
and sanctioned by the King
of Thailand to Nongkam,
Thailand.
The temple had two
functions.
1.)
Spread the arts of Krabi
Krabong and Muay Thai to the
local Thai people, and to
world travelers who have
come to seek the arts….
&
2.)
Teach and certify the Thai
Military the ancient weapons
and combat arts of
Thailand.
While training at the Budhai
Sawan, we would train with
and often help teach the
Thai army, as well as
serving at the Tak army base
in northern Thailnad.
